2 is average but 3 isn't uncommon.  This couple is very fertile (assuming it's has been the same pair).  It's disappointing we'll never know their heritage.

They hatch about 35 -39 days after incubation starts so start a close watch next weekend (I have the 31st calendared as day 35).

Maybe this is a better picture for the weekend of the fishing opener (I didn't take the picture).   Grin

I checked yesterday's archives and the male was hanging around alot.  Watch for signs of a feeding as an indication of a hatch.

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday.  Today it looks like hatcing has taken place.  The female was up and down alot and the male is around alot.

The chicks are so hard to spot at this age since they camouflage so well.  To find the chicks, look for a light strip down the spine.
