This seems to be getting to be a regular occurrence. Both come in for a couple minutes, then one leaves while the other stays there at least until it's too dark to see it. Just about the same time to the minute as last night too.

Hmmm, he/she was there early this morning as it got light, but I haven't seen either of them up until 2 PM this afternoon. Interesting.

That's interesting. I hadn't seen one since that one I posted that was there that one morning. Looks like a few minutes later the other half showed up and they both left.

Hadn't seen him/her for a couple nights, but back again. Can barely see it, but it's there. Hope it's just for a perch with a view.

This brings to mind some questions or the King Operator or anyone else who might know:
Are there any problems between the visiting Great Horned "Ospreys" and our resident falcons at the King Plant? I wondered if anyone has observed any interactions going on between the two species?
Same questions would apply but to the actual Osprey and the falcons. Any problems between those two?
Also, having passed by but never visiting the plant, how close are the two nests to each other?
Thanks so much for your help!

I haven't heard any talk concerning the "Great Horned Ospreys" and the falcons and osprey interactions. Most of the employees here are not "into" the birds. I edited a photo of our plant (pre MERP retrofit) and am attaching it to point out the locations of the falcon nest box and the osprey nest. The falcon box is on our stack, located halfway to the top. The osprey nest is on our old barge unloading platform, out on the river. I would guess that the two nests are about 1/3 mile apart. Hope this helps!

Thanx on the nest locations!! I've been to King bandings and knew the peregrine box well, but really couldn't picture where the osprey's is.
