This is Iowa? This shot was taken from the hack site at Effigy Mounds National Park near McGregor, Iowa. The hack itself took place quite near to three conical mounds built by tribal people: no one I talked to knew for certain whether the mounds would have been built by the Ho-Chunk (also called the Winnebago) or Meskwaki Nations or their ancestors. |
