Hamilton and Burr-D spotted at Great Spirit Bluff!
Both fledglings were spotted at Great Spirit Bluff today! John was operating the camera when he found Hamilton and Burr-D on a ledge. The ledge provides a great base for flight school, with a nice combination of cover and height for the two fledglings. While black flies might still be a little bothersome, their fledgling feathers, more robust immune systems, and ability to fly away will help protect them from bites. Good luck, Hamilton and Burr-D. It was great to see you again!

I included the vulture video because it gives watchers a great look at dihedral soaring – a useful thing to understand when trying to separate vultures from bald eagles at a distance! Body shape and flight style can be very helpful in bird identification: http://bit.ly/2o5XEjp
