Pip Pip Hooray! Hatch watch at the North Nest!

Pip pip hooray! We’re on hatch watch at the Decorah North nest! We spotted the first pip at 12:46 PM today, which means that the first eaglet has pierced the egg shell. Mr. North and DNF are going to keep their eggs covered, but look for little glimpses of its tiny beak chipping at its shell between shift changes and listen for soft vocalizations – egg talk! – between parents and hatching young. Eaglets can take up to 48 hours to hatch, but we’ve got our talons crossed for tomorrow! Join us to watch the hatch at https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/decorah-north-nest/ and help us throw our first hatch fundraiser on Saturday, April 2nd! If you have any questions about hatching, feel welcome to ask them below. Go eagles! 🦅🦅🦅🦅
