We have a some exciting announcements to make! We’re starting a chat at our Trempealeau, Wisconsin eagle nest this year. Bald eagles Mr. and Mrs. T have been nestorating and it looks like they are on track for a great season – talons crossed, of course! You can watch them, learn more about them, and find our chat here: https://www.raptorresource.org/trempealeau-eagles/. Our moderators are super excited to chat here this year and we’ll post hours as soon as we have them!
Missing the original Decorah Eagles? Trempealeau might be a good site for you. Mr. and Mrs. T are nesting in a white pine in a yard that overlooks the Mississippi River and an active train track. While I love the wild beauty of the North Nest, it is fascinating to watch eagles that nest so closely to humans and see the ways in which our worlds intersect. This nest reminds me of the hatchery nest more than any other we watch.
Last item! We finally made some changes to our website! You can still click ‘Watch Birds’ to see all of our nests, but we’re also grouping nests by species: Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, the Mississippi Flyway Cam, American Kestrels, and ‘Other Birds’. We’re hoping this makes it easier to find what you are looking for! Oh, and we cleaned up pages and made the site a little more friendlier for everyone watching via phone. As always, give me an email if you have any concerns or run into any problems watching our feeds or chatting: [email protected].
We’re getting eggcited!
