The bald eagle is the emblem of the United States, and its fierce beauty and proud independence aptly symbolize the strength and freedom of America. But I chose to share a very special image from the Mississippi Flyway today: a hopeful image from America’s heartland, a place to me that is one of the most beautiful and amazing places in the world. Long may it last and long may we remember the sacrifices of those who gave everything for the places and people they loved.
